To all young (15-50) people who want their voices to be heard (Re: Have a say, cast your vote, LT Letters, March 14), please don’t be put off voting because of the language and behaviour of our current politicians. They will only be there for as long as you allow it!

It would be great to hear your views, grumbles and ideas on how our country should be run and what your priorities would be.

Let’s start a debate, via email or by post, in this paper.

For your future and to keep our democracy, please consider what could be at stake for you and your family in the future.

If you have a teenage family (or older), relations, friends or workmates, do please pass this message on.

Thank you — and don’t forget to vote!

Harvey Carter, Lower Darwen (via email)
