RE, ANGER as Blackburn pupils’ daily bus fares could rise to £4.50 I don’t actually pass perfectly good state schools – I pass two privately-run academies.
I don’t have an imaginary friend, I have faith, and as such I want my child’s curriculum to include ten per cent faith teaching.
I don’t object to paying a child’s fare to get them to school but I do object to £855 per year. To go to Runshaw College from Darwen costs £365(ish) per year.
We are assured a choice of secondary school but there is now no choice unless you claim benefits and get the bus fare free.
This article isn’t just about Roman Catholic schools it is about Church of England too. We are, after all, a Christian country, but being hampered in being Christian by a Labour council who don’t rely on the Christian vote sadly.
