Re: What’s wrong with my haircut? (LT, January 10). As the grandparent of children at St Paul’s over the last six years, I would like to add my support to the head and staff.

The school is doing an excellent job in trying to both educate the children to a high standard (as Ofsted has recognised) and also encourage them to be kind and caring , respect staff and each other and learn that rules have to be obeyed. St Paul’s has its rules about uniform and hair styles.

It may not be everyone’s idea of style, but if your child attends St Paul’s then they must abide by the head’s decision. Why any parent would want it to be any other way, when we are faced with so many problems due to lack of good, old-fashioned discipline, I do not know. Thank you St Paul’s for giving my grandchildren a wonderful primary school education.
