PEOPLE braved the rain to clear litter in Rossendale.
Darryl Smith, leader of the Rossendale Conservative Party, joined 20 members of Stubbins Residents’ Association, who together gathered 24 bags of rubbish from Chatterton, Strongstry, and Stubbins.
Litter picking equipment, and bin liners, were provided by the council. Coun Smith said he was delighted with the turnout, and how much the team achieved.
He said: “The weather conditions were terrible, so it was great to see so many people join in. It’s fantastic when people show so much team spirit.”
