Extra hour’s car parking in pipeline for Rossendale
2:47pm Wednesday 2nd February 2011 in Crawshawbooth
AN extra hour’s car parking is on the cards for workers, shoppers and visitors across a host of valley sites.
Proposals to extend the length of time available on 13 short-stay car parks have been published by the borough council.
The chief beneficiary will be Rawtenstall, where car parks in upper and lower Lord Street, Newchurch Road, Kat Street, and Phipp’s Buildings, will have extended waiting.
But short-stay areas in Coal Hey Street, Hindle Street, and New Street, in Haslingden, are also covered by the new traffic order.
The remaining locations are in Adelaide Street and Water Street, in Crawshawbooth, Hall Street and Market Street, Whitworth, and Waterfoot’s Bacup Road facility.
Views on the move must be made known to the borough council within 28 days.
