HISTORIANS in Ramsbottom will be celebrating the town’s links with Charles Dickens as part of a heritage extravaganza.
Dickens is said to have based the Cheeryble Brothers, in Nicholas Nickleby, on William and David Grant.
The industrialist brothers’ legacy lives on through the Grant Arms Hotel in Market Place.
And just a stone’s throw away, at Ramsbottom Civic Hall, a history festival will be staged by the town’s heritage society, on Saturday, May 12, starting at noon.
