TWIN operations have been launched by police to combat fly-tippers and young vandals across Whitworth.
Several dumping incidents have been reported to neighbour-hood officers around Healey Dell, moorland above Lobden and the Market Street area.
Police have pledged to take action against any offenders caught leaving large amounts of rubbish in the Rossendale town.
Meanwhile problems have also arisen with the former Ashley Court premises in John Street, owned by Green Vale Homes.
Metal shutters have been erected around the property but it has become a magnet for young troublemakers, who have been deliberately damaging the site.
Extra patrols have been promised to monitor activities there, which could lead to arrests being made.
