A PENSIONER from Rossendale who died in a car crash in North Yorkshire has been named.
Frances Jeffrey, 75, from Whitewell Bottom was a rear seat passenger in a silver Renault Megane Scenic when it collided with a silver Land Rover Discovery on the A65 at Giggleswick, near Settle.
Mrs Jeffrey was pronounced dead at the scene of the accidnet on Friday just after 11.20am.
The 42-year-old male driver of the Land Rover Discovery and the other occupants of the Megane Scenic, two men and two women, received treatment for minor injuries at Airedale Hospital.
An inquest is expected to be opened and adjourned later this week in Skipton.
