Police helicopter drafted in after motorist crashes into parked cars during chase
A MOTORIST suspected of car theft was detained in the early hours of yesterday in Rossendale.
Just after 1am, a car was followed by police from the Rochdale area along Market Street into Whitworth.

The driver sped away from officers before crashing the vehicle into two parked cars, according to Rossendale Police.
He abandoned the car in the Millgate area of the town, prompting the police helicopter and dog handlers to be drafted in.
The helicopter pilot tracked the suspect down to undergrowth in Oak Street and he was arrested .
