THE family of a little girl with a life-threatening condition are fundraising to give her a ‘once in a lifetime trip’ to Lapland.
Bacup youngster Harlee-Jae Procter, with the help of her family, set up a bucket list to help create precious memories with her family.
MORE TOP STORIES:
In March Harlee-Jae managed to cross off one of the items on the list when she met Clarets star Danny Ings.
And now her family have set up a GoFund Me page to try and raise £2,000 for the family to have a trip to Lapland in December.
Little Harlee-Jae, who turned five on Monday, suffers from a condition that means part of a chromosome, which could contain vital genetic material, has been lost or deleted.
As revealed by the Lancashire Telegraph earlier this year, Harlee-Jae’s condition means she could die of liver failure at any time.
The microdeletion, which is so rare doctors have written a paper on her, causes issues including biliary atresia, which causes inflammation within the bile ducts, polycystic kidney disease, where fluid-filled cysts develop in the kidneys, and nephrocalcinosis, which causes a build up of calcium in the kidneys that can cause devastating kidney failure.
As part of her bucket list Harlee-Jae, of Anderson Close, will be going on a trip to Blackpool Zoo on June 5.
Mum Sasha, 25, said: “Harlee-Jae has wanted to go to Lapland for a while. We had been looking at the UK Lapland but it is really expensive so we thought it would be better to spend a bit more and do the proper thing .
“We are trying to raise around £2,000 for the trip which we hope will cover the costs.”
Harlee-Jae and her family have also been invited to be special guests at a vintage clarets match in August where she will get to meet Bertie Bee and tick off another item on her list.
