IMPROVEMENTS to two open spaces in Britannia funded by Elevate are expected to start soon.
Members of Rossendale Council's cabinet are due to back plans to improve the entrance to Britannia Primary School, and the grassed area at Whittle Street and Rochdale Road.
At the Rochdale Road school, the plans include replacing the existing paving and metal railings, putting up a new signboard welcoming pupils and installing a metal bench.
Work at Whittle Street includes replacing the paving and installing a new path, shrubs and railings.
