Reliant Robin driver has 'lucky escape' in vehicle blaze

THE DRIVER of a Reliant Robin had a lucky escape after the car caught fire while he was driving it.

The vehicle caught fire in Mellor Brow, Mellor, at around 8.30pm on Friday and the blaze wrecked the car.

Crew manager Simon Eardley said: “The car caught fire while somebody was driving it, and they had a bit of a lucky escape.

“It was already well alight by the time we got there and there was nothing left of the car once the fire was out.”

I would say that every time he has driven without being recognised could count as a lucky escape.

We used to call them plastic jags when we were kids. Can't believe anyone would want one. I'd rather walk!
