A 'WORKING' visit from US President Donald Trump was announced yesterday and has left MPs divided in opinion.

The reaction comes after it was announced President Trump will head to the UK for a 'working' visit' on Friday, July 13, rather than an official state one, which would have seen Mr Trump meet the Queen, due to concerns of protests and disorder.

Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans has described the upcoming visit as 'superb' news and would strengthen the relationship between the UK and US following France's visit to the White House.

The Tory MP, who has long supported Trump's visit to the country, said: "I think it's great news and absolutely superb following the state visit of France's President Macron to the United States.

"I'm certain the relationship of the the US and France has improved as a result.

"Macron talked about the special relationship but there is only one special relationship between the US and UK and this shouldn't be jeopardised."

However, Blackburn with Darwen MP Kate Hollern didn't think the visit was a 'good move' because of the President's 'outspoken views' in his country.

She said: "I do not think it's a good move. I think the man is divisive.

"I do not have a problem with him coming but rolling out the red carpet for him was a bit premature."
