AN investigation is underway into a 'suspicious' fire at a former pub.
Two crews from Clitheroe attended the fire at the derelict Moorcock Inn in Slaidburn Road, Waddington at around 5am.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and are now looking into the cause.
A fire service spokesman said: "Quite possibly we will be looking at the possibility of it being arson."
However they also did not rule out the blaze being started accidentally.
Police were also called to the scene at 5.20am to carry out further investigations.
A police spokesman said: "It was a small fire.
"It was started under suspicious circumstances but at this stage it is hard to say what caused it."
Nobody was injured in the fire.
