EURO-SCEPTIC MP Nigel Evans has urged Prime Minister Theresa May to press the Brexit button quickly.

The Ribble Valley Tory was reacting to Parliament passing the legislation needed to trigger Article 50 to begin the process of leaving the European Union.

He said: “I say bring it on and the sooner the better.

“I would like to see the prime minister trigger Article 50 as soon as possible so we can get on with the job of leaving the European Union.

“The Brexit Bill has been passed so we can now start the negotiations.

“This is what the people of the UK voted for and what they expect Mrs May to do.”

Yesterday Brexit secretary Davis Davis said he expected the European Union (Notification of Withdrawal) Bill, which cleared Parliament this week, to receive Royal Assent and become law on Thursday.
