A BUDDING singer wants the whole of the county to get behind her ahead of performing on The Voice live shows.

Hayley Eccles, from Old Langho, made it through the battle rounds of the ITV singing competition at the weekend to remain on judge Will.I.Am’s team.

She will now be performing in the live shows on the Saturday, March 11, episode when the team will be cut from six singers down to three.

The 22-year-old said: “I’m really proud of myself for getting this far when you think of the amount of people who entered but I would love to get through again I’ve got so much more to show.

“The battle rounds were really really scary, but it was the best feeling getting through.

“It’s going to be nerve wracking performing live but it’s all so exciting, I really want to get all the way.

“It’s down to the public vote who gets through now as well, so I want to get the whole of Lancashire behind me, I’m the only one from the area left in the competition.”

Miss Eccles sang Jess Glynne’s ‘Hold My Hand’ alongside Jazmin Sawyer to compete to get to the next stage of the competition, and she was ‘delighted’ to be selected by Will.I.Am.

The barmaid at the Black Bull pub has been busy rehearsing at home this week and has a gig in Preston on Saturday.

She will then be travelling down to London on Sunday.
