SCOTS’ rockers Big Country are playing a surprise free gig in Clitheroe on Tuesday (OCTOBER 1).
Big Country, who had top 10 hits with Fields of Fire and Harvest Home, will be staging the warm-up gig ahead of their 30th anniversary tour, marking the release of their album Steeltown.
Playing under the name of Men of Steel at the Key Street venue in Lowergate, Clitheroe, they will be on stage at 9pm.
Fans can meet the band before the gig and there will be an after show party at the town’s Swan and Royal Hotel.
The band’s spokesman Dave Hill said: “The people at the Swan and Royal, along with Phil and Bev at Key Street have always been very kind to us when we’re down to rehearse in the town.
“Clitheroe has become our home from home – so this is our way of showing our gratitude and a great way to launch the Steeltown 30th anniversary tour.”
