A 53-YEAR-old Nelson man said to be ‘at the bottom’ of the drugs chain fell foul of a police surveillance operation.
Blackburn magistrates heard officers were keeping watch on a house in Accrington when William James Richmond went in and scored some amphetamine.
He was arrested and inadvertently helped police achieve their aim of arresting the dealer.
Richmond, 53, of Beaufort Street, Nelson, pleaded guilty to possessing amphetamine.
He was made subject to community supervision for six months, fined £25 and ordered to pay £110 costs.
Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said the dealer had been charged and sent to the crown court to be dealt with.
Robin Phoenix, defending, said his client, like a lot of other people, was at the bottom end of what goes on in the world of drugs.
