KIDS have been learning about healthy food and the environment in Brierfield, after the NHS teamed up with a children’s centre.
Bent Head children’s allotment in Edge End Lane has been hosting sessions for youngsters to learn how to cook, take part in an insect hunt and explore nature.
The activities, which have attracted 82 children so far, are run by Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust with Walton Lane Children Centre.
Anyone is welcome to attend the next sessions, which are scheduled from 10am to 2pm on the following dates:
- August 29 – plant strawberries and make strawberry jam.
- September 5 – make scarecrows.
