CCTV images have captured the moment two hooded thieves raided an off-licence in Barrowford.

The men, who were also wearing scarves over their faces, burst into Bargain Booze in Gisburn Road, and threatened a woman working behind the till.

They ordered her to open the till but she refused.

One of the raiders then entered the till area and grabbed a till float containing £200 in cash. Both men then fled the shop.

Police have now released CCTV images in a bid to identify the thieves involved in the incident, which happened at around 8.55pm on Saturday September 28.

DC Steven Acres, from Burnley CID, said: “I would appeal to anyone who has information about this incident to come forward and contact the police.

“Unfortunately it is not possible to see the men’s faces from the CCTV images, but I would appeal to anyone who recognises the men from the clothing worn, or to anyone who has any information at all about this incident to get in touch.

“This was a very frightening incident for the shop worker who has been left shaken following her ordeal and officers are providing her with support.”

Anyone with information can contact DC 49 Steve Acres or DS 2568 Charlie Haynes at Pennine CID by calling 01282 472240.
