AN illustrative talk on settlements in the North West during the medial period will take place next year.
Provided by Friends of Pendle Heritage, Dr David Johnson will provide an in-depth look into the potential for Angle-Saxon settlements in the North West, entitled 'Early Medieval North Craven: archaeological and historical perspectives.'
A Friends of Pendle Heritage spokesman said: "Received knowledge tells us that there are no proven Anglo-Saxon settlement sites in the North West.
"Recent work in North Craven is turning that view on its head.
"This talk provides an insight into new discoveries."
The event will take place at the Pendle Heritage Centre in Colne Road, Barrowford, on Thursday, February 15, at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £2.50 for members and £4 for non members, refreshments will be provided.
