A WOMAN was taken to hospital suffering burns after a pan fire in Nelson.
The contents of the pan had ignited at a house in Brentwood Road.
Two fire engines were sent to the scene just after 2pm today (Tuesday).
The woman was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital for further treatment.
A fire spokesman said: "The contents of a pan on a cooker hob overheated and ignited.
"Two fire engines and crews, from Nelson and Colne, responded to the 999 call.
"The occupant of the house was outside and she had sustained slight burns.
"The fire itself was already out and had not spread beyond the pan.
"Ambulance paramedics treated the casualty's injuries at the scene and took her to hospital for further treatment."
