CAR enthusiasts from far and wide travelled to Pendle to showcase their amazing motors.

As part of the build up to Pendle Powerfest 2017, organisers held a cars and coffee event in Barnoldswick on Saturday.

More than 250 vehicles turned out at the event at the Rolls-Royce Leisure Centre ranging from Ferraris, rare sports cars, as well as vintage vehicles, mini vans and motorbikes.

The event helped raise money forPendle Powerfest’s toy donation initiative which hopes to give gifts to hospitals in East Lancashire.

Organiser Chris Walker from Barnoldswick said: “It was just an informal meeting of everyone who loves cars really.

“That was the best thing, you got people who had shared interests and different interest come together.

“That’s why I started running the events, when I was a kid I used to go to these sort of events with my dad, and I want to do the same with my children.

“It was just a great day with the sun shining. It was a nice event and it was absolutely heaving.”

Guests at Royal Blackburn Hospital and Burnley General Hospital will be given gifts during the summer, and more will be helped depending on how much they raise.

Organisers want to raise at least £2,000 with the toy donation scheme.

Ashley Scriviner, from Padiham, who came in his Ford Fiesta Zetec S said: “I loved it, it was a really great turn out the weather’s been perfect." The meeting also showcased what is to come at Pendle Powerfest's main event on May 28.
