DOZENS of people dressed as Santa will be taking part in a fun run around Seedhill Athletics Track and Victoria Park in Nelson this Sunday.

The event will be started by British champion Helen Clitheroe and will raise money for the NSPCC. Ashley Alderson, who is organising the run on behalf of Pendle Leisure Trust, said: “I can’t wait to see all the Santas in one place. It will be a great event and hopefully we will raise a lot of money for this very worthy cause. The 2.5km run route is exceptionally straightforward to cater for all fitness levels, with the emphasis on the word fun.

“The circular route is once round the track, then into Victoria Park, round the park and back to Seedhill. It isn’t a race, so people can do it at their leisure.

“It should be quite a sight to behold as hopefully scores of Santas set off around the track at 9.30am.”
