Man, 77, taken to hospital after Brierfield crash
12:31pm Sunday 11th November 2012 in Pendle
By Dan Clough, Reporter
A 77-YEAR-OLD man was taken to hospital after a crash in Brierfield yesterday.
Fire crews had to cut the man free from the Kia Carens car near the Lane Ends pub, on the corner of Higher Reedley Road and Halifax Road, at around 2.30pm.
A spokesman from Nelson Fire Station said it appeared the man had been dazzled by sunlight and crashed into a parked car.
The car then rolled back into an oncoming lorry.
The man is thought to have suffered chest and head injuries, while his wife was taken to hospital for checks but appeared unharmed.
The road was closed for about two hours.
