THE tale of the famous witches of Samlesbury has been written to mark the 400th anniversary of the Lancashire Witches.
The book has been penned by author Glen Clayton for Samlesbury Hall and tells the story of Jane Southworth and Jennet and Ellen Bierley, who were accused of witchcraft, but later acquitted.
The book is available from Samlesbury Hall shop, Mellor post office and the South Ribble Museum, Leyland, and is priced at £6.95.
