BURNLEY Community Sports Awards have opened their nominations for 2015.

The awards, which were last year hosted by GB Olympic gold medallist Tessa Sanderson last year, right, have been established to recognise and celebrate the contributions and achievements of local people and communities to sport, physical activity, and community development.

The awards pay tribute to those who show dedication at a range of levels or those who work to support individuals or community clubs, for the love of the sport or their community There are nine categories in the 2015 Sport Awards.

They are: Coach of the Year; Community Club of the Year; Young Volunteer of the Year (under 24s) Volunteer of the Year (over 24s); Rising Star; Vicki Taylor Lifetime Achievement Award; Community School of the Year; Service to Disability Sport Award; Health Champion and the Brian Fenn Community Award.
