ROSSENDALE MP Jake Berry has welcomed news that crime is falling after figures showed offences recorded by police in Lancashire fell by eight per cent since 2010.

The latest figures from the independent Crime Survey of England and Wales showed crime across the country had fallen by more than a fifth in the same period, meaning 2.3million fewer crimes since 2010.

Mr Berry said: “It is fantastic that crime is continuing to fall in Lancashire. “The Government is following an action plan to tackle crime and Rossendale a safer place to live.

“It is also thanks to the tireless work of hardworking police officers across Rossendale that we are seeing real results being delivered in our community.”
