A MAN has been arrested following an alleged assault at Edisford Bridge in Clitheroe.

Police are appealing for information after the altercation between two men at around 5.10pm on Saturday.

It is believed that the incident happened at the beauty spot after one man asked the other to control two dogs he had with him.

A 48-year-old man, from Bury, was treated for minor injuries, including cuts and scratches, at Blackburn Hospital.

A 39-year-old man, from Blackburn, was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and has been released on bail until 14 October.

DC Louise Briggs of Blackburn CID said: “We need witnesses to come forward so that we can establish exactly what has happened and the circumstances that have led to the altercation.”
