Alert over wood burners
FIREFIGHTERS are organising a campaign to raise awareness about the safe use of wood burners to be held on September 8 and 14.
Station Manager Neil Mark, from Rossendale Fire Service, said: “I will be highlighting the dangers associated with wood-burning stoves, along with actions that can be taken to reduce the risk of an incident occuring.
“Over the past 18 months, fire crews in Rossendale have attended a number of domestic fires.
“The cause has been a wood burning stove that has either been incorrectly fitted or maintained, For more information, visit www.nacs.org.uk.
