A DARWEN councillor has been appointed road safety champion for Blackburn with Darwen Council.
Earcroft’s Stephanie Brookfield will champion road safety issues in the borough, starting at Ashleigh Primary School in Ross Street.
Coun Brookfield is planning a full programme of school visits to talk to children and is looking at a number of other schemes.
She said: “I am very passionate about this and I am delighted to have been appointed.
“Tackling bad parking especially around schools is one of my top priorities as it is a big cause of traffic accidents in our borough.”
Council leader Kate Hollern said: “I am delighted Stephanie has taken on this important role.”
