THE Platform Gallery in Clitheroe has been praised in an audit, following improvements.

The borough council-run gallery was handed the assurance rating of ‘minimal’ in March, indicating that the ‘system of control is weak’ in the business.

The previous audit of the Station Road gallery revealed an ‘overall lack of stock control with inaccurate and unreliable records’. he audit also said ‘stock takes were not being carried out’.

Following a new audit in July, the council has announced that the gallery and information centre has been given the rating of ‘substantial’.

The council’s ‘Action Plan’ for the gallery, which included the centralisation of stock storage, the introduction of monthly stock takes and the running down of bought stock lines, has now been completed.
