THE Mayor and Mayoress of Pendle spent an afternoon at Bancroft Mill, Barnoldswick.
Coun Graham Roach is no stranger to heavy engineering and was very interested to see the engines on display in the Gillians Lane museum.
He described the mill and its many exhibitions as “a very important heritage site for Pendle”. Mayoress Joanna Sagar also showed a keen interest in the displays and had an enlightening conversation with a little girl from Gisburn who visits Bancroft Mill every steaming day.
Both the mayor and mayoress started the engine in their turns. The mayor invited the same little girl to assist him during his turn.
