A NELSON man grabbed his partner by the throat in front of their two young children, Burnley magistrates were told.
Nicole Fancy had been out all day with the two-year-old and four-year-old before Wayne Reid launched the attack at their home in Nelson’s Carleton Street, the court heard.
Prosecutor Parveen Akhtar said Reid had been drinking when he started a row.
He threw a lighter which ricocheted and hit her in the eye and grabbed her by the throat.
Reid, now of Frederick Street, Barnoldswick, admitted assault and was bailed for pre-sentence reports to appear before a domestic violence court.
He was bailed on condition he does not contact Ms Fancy or return to Carleton Street.
