CHILDREN from St Paul’s CE Primary School in Nelson have created a time capsule to be buried at the site of their new school.

The school is currently on the corner of Hibson and Halifax Road but in September, pupils and staff will move into the new premises on the site of the former Edge End High School.

The school formed a ‘Time Capsule Committee’ and the team of ten met each week from Christmas to come up with ideas.

St Paul’s Church donated items about the history of the church including photos from the past to be included in the capsule.

And the children were eager to include pictures of the Royal Family and the birth of Prince George.

Each committee member drew personal profiles and they also took lots of pictures in their current school. The time capsule will be unearthed in 50 years.
