A JUNIOR doctor at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is helping to inspire the next generation of medics.
Dr Carmine Grasso has organised medicine information days for sixth formers at Nelson and Colne College, St Christopher’s CE High School, Accrington, St Mary’s College, Westholme School, Tauheedul Islam Girls' High in Blackburn, Stonyhurst College, Thomas Whitham Sixth Form College in Burnley, Haslingden High School and Blackburn College.
In total, 35 students spent a day at Royal Blackburn Hospital, discovering just what it takes to become an NHS doctor.
Dr Grasso said: “I hope that our event helped the students to discover more about the diverse range of careers within medicine, as well as finding out more about the personal qualities which make a good doctor.”
