THE firm that recently took over an East Lancashire smart metering firm has seen revenues increase by more than half.

Scotland-based Energy Assets Group bought Darwen firm BGlobal Metering for £2.3million in April.

And the firm said income in the 13 weeks to the end of June had rocketed by 53 per cent.

Bosses said the integration of BGlobal was progressing well and the deal helped double the number of meters owned by the firm to 323,000.

Chief executive Phil Bellamy-Lee said: “The BGlobal Metering Ltd acquisition enables Energy Assets to expand its presence into the electricity sector and is a significant step in the delivery of the group’s strategy to offer services across a multi-utility platform.”
