A GROUP of young people in Lancashire County Council care has been honoured with the ‘Diana Award’. It was created in 1999 as a legacy to the late Diana Princess of Wales and her belief that young people have the power to change the world.
Members of LINX, Lancashire’s children in care council, have been recognised for their work ensuring the voices of ‘looked after’ young people are listened to by decision-makers.
They were presented with their Diana Volunteers’ Award by county children’s boss Matthew Tomlinson.
He said: “LINX is a fantastic example of a group that aims to give the most vulnerable children and young people a voice.
“We value the contribution they make in influencing the way we run services.”
