RESIDENTS are being warned to be on the lookout for crooks during the summer weather.
Milnshaw’s Labour councillor Paul Cox spoke out after an increase in the number of burglaries and theft.
He said: “It’s not often that we get prolonged spells of good weather to enjoy but, at the moment, we have and we must make the most of it. The problem is that some criminals are determined to make the best of it too.”
Coun Cox said criminals have been stealing from vehicles and homes after entering through open windows and doors.
He added: “It is better to spend a few minutes about security than being a victim of crime.”
