A COMMEMORATIVE event is set to be held in Hurst Green to mark the centenary of the start of the First World War.
It will be staged on Monday, August 4, and will be followed by a candle-lit procession to the village’s war memorial.
The candles will be blown out at 11pm to mark the start of the war.
The organising committee wants to gather as much information as possible on the 16 men whose names appear on the memorial.
For information call David and Gill Jacques on 01254 878222 or Frances Aherne at domestic.bursar@stonyhurst.ac.uk
