A CLITHEROE headteacher has said the opening of a new sports hall would be a ‘realisation of a dream’.
Work started in October 2013 on the £2million project at Clitheroe Royal Grammar School.
Judith Child said that it is hoped that it will open in September after a 36-week building programme.
She said: “This has been an extraordinary year for CRGS and we return in September to the realisation of a dream. Our long-awaited sports hall will be completed and fully operational.
“Thank you again for your contributions to this fantastic facility.” The new sports hall will feature retractable seating for up to 270 spectators and will also be suitable for use as a meeting space.
The gymnasium will be served by an entrance foyer, a small office, student and staff changing areas and an associated plant room.
