A SLIMMER from Church came up with a unique way of being sponsored for charity.
Marie Wright, from Kingways, collected money for every stone she lost after setting herself a target of three.
And after losing a stone already, she donated £156 to East Lancashire Hospice.
The second will see Hyndburn Stray Dogs benefiting, and the third will go towards Blackburn with Darwen Health Living.
She said: “I chose to do it this way because knowing that people will only pay up when I’ve reached the goal has really helped spare me on when I’ve felt like straying from the diet.
“The work the hospice does is amazing in caring for patients so I wanted to raise money to help them.
“Lots of people know about the hospice but you never know if someone you know might need it.”
