New singers for top choir
BLACKBURN Cathedral’s Young People’s Choir is looking for new members.
Shaun Turnbull, assistant director of Music at Blackburn Cathedral, is recruiting for the choir which is open to teenagers and young adults. The choir rehearse on a Thursday evening and sings the Sunday 9am Eucharist.
It currently comprises of around 12 teenagers and young adults.
A spokesman for the choir said: “The choir has an active social calendar and has toured in the last academic year.
“It’s a great opportunity for young musicians to do something to a high standard. Many have gone on to read music at university.”
