Pub is set for revamp
PLANS have been submitted to make alterations to the former Red Lion Hotel in Blacksnape Road, Darwen.
Owner Eileen Pickles has submitted a planning application to Blackburn with Darwen Council, requesting permission to demolish a rear extension and balcony, replace ground floor windows and make external repairs and renovations.
The pub is subject to ‘asset of community value’ status after residents fought to stop the building being changed into anything other than a pub.
