THE leader of a Clitheroe housing action group has hit out at a proposed development scheme for the town.
Steve Rush, from the Clitheroe Residents Action Group, said that the plan for 275 houses off Waddington Road will ‘not benefit’ the town. He also said that it would ‘only add to the destruction of our beautiful countryside’.
Mr Rush was speaking after a local consortium published plans for the Waddow View site, six months after their previous application was rejected after an appeal hearing.
The consortium, made up of Clitheroe Auction Mart, the Huntroyde Estate, John Taylor and Sarah and Samantha Howard, will run a consultation period until Monday, June 30.
