AN East Lancashire nature reserve has been given an award by a popular travel website.
Brockholes Nature Reserve in Samlesbury has received a Certificate of Excellence for the second year running from Trip Advisor.
The reserve scored an average of four out of five stars on the site.
The award comes a few weeks before the reserve starts to open its gates on Friday evenings for the first time.
Events and communications manager Sarah Leach said: “It is great to know that the vast majority of visitors have enjoyed themselves and many come back again.
“We are going to stay open on Friday, July 4, and Friday, July 11, to give people an opportunity to enjoy the long summer evenings in a beautiful place.”
