WORKERS at BAE Systems are set to turn out in force this week to show their appreciation for military personnel during Armed Forces Week.

More than 100 people from its Military Air and Information business at Warton and Samlesbury, have signed up to attend breakfast sessions with members of the Armed Forces to learn more about the role they play this week.

Today the company is taking part in the national ‘Wear Your Uniform to Work Day’ where members of the reserve forces from all parts of the Armed Forces are encouraged to wear their uniforms during their day job.

On Friday, more than 60 people will take part in an ‘Honour Walk’ on the 17.5 miles between Warton and Samlesbury to raise money for the Royal British Legion, the chosen charity for this year at both sites.

Drew Steel, Military Liaison Executive for MAI, said: “It’s a real privilege to work at BAE Systems and provide equipment and services to the dedicated men and women of our armed forces.”
