EIGHT midwives have raised £2,250 to help bereaved parents get the best possible care, after taking part in the Great Manchester Run.

Kerry Taylor, Megan Hanratty, Jenna Carlson, Laura Cooper, Danika Pendlebury, Sarah Tristram, Rachel Harries and Kimberley Nuttall – all current or former midwives at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust – ran the 10k course earlier this month for Sands, the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death charity.

Kerry said: “We have all been training so hard over the last few months and we are so proud of one another for what we have achieved.

“Funds are needed for research which then helps to reduce the number of babies dying and families devastated by this tragedy.”
