PUPPETEERS are ready for a packed line-up of plays and workshops at one of the East Lancashire’s most popular event weekends.
The annual Puppet Festival at the Boo playhouse in Burnley Road East, Waterfoot, tomorrow to Sunday, will begin with Transport Theatre’s 1001 Nights.
It tells the story of Shahrazad, a young girl who’s fled her home in Syria to begin a new life in Britain.
On Saturday, Italian company La Baracca will bring their beautiful show, The Boat and the Moon to the Valley. Elsewhere, resident artists will present In the Beginning, a new show created especially for the Puppet Festival.
On Sunday, Rubbish, by Theatre Rites, depicts a world where unwanted objects take on a life of their own. For tickets, visit horseandbamboo.org, or call 01706 220241.
