LANCASHIRE’s manufacturing industry is outperforming its service sector, a major new survey has revealed.
The Lancashire Economic Survey, which quizzed more than 300 firms employing nearly 30,000 people in the county, showed manufacturers outperformed on sales and orders both in the UK and export markets.
Philip McIvor, founder of Nelson-based food firm Farmhouse Biscuits, said the research showed manufacturing continued to be a powerhouse industry behind Lancashire’s economy.
